Cold or Flu:  Try This Natural Cough Suppressant that Lasts for Hours

This is an easy to prepare cough syrup from things found in your kitchen cabinet.  It’s all natural so there are no groggy side effects.  The Apple Cider Vinegar used in this remedy will also help speed recovery.  The simple ingredients are:

7 ounces distilled water

1 1/2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar (Preferably with “the mother”)

1 1/2 Tablespoons of Honey

1/2 Lemon Juice

Ingredients for Natural Cough Syrup

ACV helps to alkalize the body and kill viruses and bacteria.  The Lemon juice also helps to alkalize the body and has an added benefit of cutting phlegm and mucous.  The honey soothes the throat and by itself is a natural cough suppressant.

Mix well and heat over a low flame for about a minute  (I prefer heating on the stove rather the microwave but you can use the microwave as well.)  Drink while warm.

Enjoy and repeat as often as necessary.  I usually enjoy relief for up to four hours with each cup of tea.
